- Lenora and Rafael showed up first in St. Ninian’s Into the Fortress. I had several people read this book who never read St. Ninian’s, so I say with confidence you can start here with no background and love the book.
- The title comes from Jeremiah–see the image with the verse. The Hebrew for watch sounds like the Hebrew for almond tree, so the tree symbolizes God watching out for his people.
- This book has a lot of characters because it opens a series of five books. If you can’t get them all straight at first, don’t worry. They’ll become clearer as you go.
