audiobook: book with headphones

All Things Audio...

At the moment, I’m dabbling in audiobooks. I’m trying a little bit of everything until I find the right fit for my books and readers. The goal is to narrate all my books with my own human voice, but my human voice can only read so fast, so bear with me as I slowly add to this collection.  You can grab three of these on the regular places, like Audible and Spotify, and you can buy all of from me direct. Some are free. Some are not. Some are pay-what-you-want. So browse and see if anything catches your fancy. Check often, because I am working on more every day. Right now my son (the sound engineer) and I are finishing another St. Ninian’s and the newest Snack Cake and Straw Hats books.

ElevenReader Narration

I admit I waffled on this, but for a short time, some of my books will be on ElevenReader, a free AI book narration phone app. This is a beta program from the Eleven Labs AI Narration company, so it won’t be free forever, but for now, while you wait for me to narrate more books, see what you think.

Like Amazon, YouTube, etc, the site is filled with books I would NOT recommend, so browse with caution. But my books are safe, and they sound decent here (not great, but not horrible), and  you can listen free. Oh, my favorite AI voices are Finn, Jerry, and Hope–you get to choose from a zillion voices. I also like slowing it down to .9x speed.

And for those of you worried about AI training sources–ElevenLabs contracts with voiceover artists and pays them well to use their voices, so no worries there.
