The No-See-Um of Dragonfly Creek

Terry's Garden Book Five

Sometimes Colt gets lost in the chaos…

When Colt Granbury’s mother remarries, he gets a new stepdad and a new brother, but the changes aren’t what he’d hoped for. His brother doesn’t seem to care, and while his stepdad loves him, Colt isn’t as important to him as his other son or their new baby. He spends more and more time helping a friend on her farm to hide from the hurt in his life.

Fiona lost her dad to cancer, and her driving ambition is to finish her dad’s plans for the family B&B. When Colt offers to help her, they begin the long, difficult, dangerous process of keeping up the inn, the one her grieving mother threatens to sell out from under them every day. With Colt’s help, she knows she can see her dad’s dreams happen.

But Colt gets lost in her ambitions. He gets lost when his brother disappears. What will it take for everyone to realize he’s one of the best parts of their world, and if they don’t start to see him, they may lose him for good?

The No-See-Um of Dragonfly Creek is book five of Terry’s Garden, stories about a huge family, an enchanting garden, and the healing power of faith and friendship. Christian coming-of-age/romance novels for teens and anyone who remembers what it’s like to take those first wobbling steps into adulthood.

Jill's Notes

  •  Colt Granbury ranks up there with my favorite characters.
  • The book includes a rescue scene in the rain that was super fun to write. Oh, the drama…
  • For this book I researched building farm fences. Writing can take a person to strange places.
  • This book and the next take place almost simultaneously, and I can never remember how I numbered them in the series.
  • I loved Dragonfly Creek, and characters in the later books, especially the last two, end up here all the time, where Fi and Colt get to speak wisdom into the younger sets’ stories.
  • This book is in Kindle Unlimited.
