Pierre
Triplets on the River Book Two

She didn’t know swamp rats could fall in love.
Suzette was a deep swamp kid, isolated and living under her papa’s thumb. He sends her to stay with her aunt, a healer who’s teaching a swamp boy, Pierre, to be a healer, too. She knows nothing about boys, although he is kind and beautiful and filled with energy. He’s an easy boy to lose her heart to.
Then Suzette’s papa calls her home to marry a monster. Finding her life in danger, she flees to Pierre for help, hiding in the midst of his large family. Living near the boy she loves but can’t have, and discovering he loves her, too, is almost unbearable.
It isn’t until Pierre loses a patient that Suzette realizes what it means to belong, to be family, and to love with her whole heart. She doesn’t know how to heal her sensitive boy, but she has to try, whatever the cost.
Pierre is book two of the series Triplets on the River, books about life on a lazy river delta. Grow up, fall in love, and avoid alligators.
Jill's Notes
- In Swamp Rats, young Pierre tended to get into trouble. I enjoyed maturing him a little and turning him into a healer.
- I don’t normally include cliffhangers in books, but the end of this book definitely makes you want to read the third. The story is complete, but Remy’s story is already playing out.
