Jill's Notes
- After this book is a ‘hidden’ St. Ninian’s book, Call the Dawn, which is the second book in the two-book volume Border Crossing. The other book in that volume is a Casa Flanigan. Readers seem to love both, as well as paying a single-book price for two books.
- Ginny Nolan, a minor character in this book who homeschools her kids and isn’t sure what to do with her life once they leave, is quite autobiographical. Expect to see a few of Ginny’s adult children on the island in the future. My kids never moved to an island, so the similarity ends here.
- I have a big, detailed chart of all the staff members on the island. I have lists by department and family. Creating a whole little world is hard, and keeping it consistent for fifteen+ books is even harder.
