Boys of Summer Book Eight

In a perfect world, Kee would only talk to horses.

Cherokee Jones loves his job, living in a cabin on a horse farm where he doesn’t have to deal with people. Then Matt Tucker appears on the scene. The guy oozes niceness, rides horses like a jockey, and has this brilliant idea for a summer horse camp for kids.

The whole thing is a nightmare, and after Kee breaks his foot at the camp, the nightmare deepens, because Matt kidnaps him from the hospital. Yep, forces him into his car, takes him home to his super-nice roommates, and pampers him.

Worse, a spoiled city girl who helped with camp latches onto him. Cassie is sweet but clueless, constantly being nice to him for no reason, and because his foot has him trapped at home, he can’t get away. They don’t realize he needs to be alone. He has a secret, and if people knew, he wouldn’t just be alone. No, he’d be hated and alone, and he can’t do that again. Maybe God has bigger plans for him than to live his days alone.

Adventure, danger, romance…  Welcome to the Boys of Summer, a contemporary Christian series for teens and anyone who appreciates the challenges of stepping into adulthood.

Jill's Notes

  • Yes, this is a Beauty and the Beast story.
  • I wasn’t finished with Kee and Cassie when the book ended. The story of their future is in Paint a New Sunrise in the St. Ninian’s Sanctuary Series. Bring tissues. You will cry, and you will cheer.
  • Before the pair gets to St. Ninian’s, they’ll make cameo appearances in both the Girls Aglow and Casa Flanigan series. They can’t seem to stay in their lane.
  • Farmer’s Daughter, the fourth Girls Aglow book, revisits Kee’s brother, Frank. Kee is also there, as growly as ever.
